Terms of use. The rules of the game, in plain words.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the pepfit app (Android and browser, app.pep.fit), the pep.fit website and the AI connection. pepfit is published by Joubert SARL (see the legal notice). You accept these terms and the privacy policy once, the first time you open the app, with or without an account, with one tap ("I accept"). This acceptance covers the uses described here that you then choose yourself (connecting a device or an AI, sharing with a coach, "Improve accuracy"): each one stays a switch you turn on and off whenever you like. The app keeps the version of the accepted texts and the date; with an account, pepfit keeps them too (with the language), for as long as the account exists. If these texts change, the app shows them to you again. Under 16: a parent reads them with you and accepts for you.

pepfit may be taken over by another company, created for it. You will be told by email and in the app before the change, together with the new version of these terms.

2. Your account

  • Age: you must be at least 16 to create an account. The coach and venue roles are reserved for adults.
  • Accuracy: you give an email address that is yours and you confirm it.
  • Your keys: your sensitive data is end-to-end encrypted with a key that never leaves your devices. Keep your recovery phrase somewhere safe: without it, pepfit cannot give your data back, since it cannot read it.
  • One account, one person: your account is personal. You are responsible for what happens in it.

3. Sport, not medicine

pepfit helps you track your sport, your plate and your recovery. It is not a medical device: it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it does not replace a doctor's advice. Estimates (energy, Effort, Recovery, pepfit age…) are calculated guides, not clinical measurements.

Before taking up sport again, or if you have any doubt about your health, ask a doctor. Stop any exercise that hurts.

4. Programs and coach content

Coaches can publish routines and programs in the app. The "Verified coach" badge means their professional sports educator card was checked against the official register; it does not guarantee the content.

  • Coach's responsibility: the coach is the author of what they publish and answers for it. They warrant that they hold the rights to it, that the exercises suit the stated level, and that they make no misleading advertising or health claims.
  • Moderation: a coach's first publication and every image (photo, cover) are reviewed by pepfit before they become visible. After that, pepfit does not review every publication in advance, but acts as soon as a problem is reported.
  • Report: every publication and every profile has a Report button (advertising or scam, dangerous exercise, copied or impersonated, inappropriate image or text, something else). The coach never knows who reported it. Three reports from different accounts within a week hide the publication until pepfit decides to keep or remove it. You can also write to [email protected].
  • What you save: a saved routine or program is copied into your app. If the coach removes it, your copy stays.

5. Conduct

On pepfit, you do not post anything illegal, hateful, violent or sexual, nor anything that harasses or impersonates someone. You do not misuse the app: no scraping, no attempt to access someone else's data, no deliberate overloading of the server. A username must not mislead (posing as pepfit, a brand or another person).

6. Intellectual property

The app, the website, the pepfit name and logo, the illustrations and the texts belong to Joubert SARL or to their authors. Your data remains yours: you can export it at any time. When a coach publishes content, they keep their rights and allow pepfit to display it, and every member to copy it and use it for themselves, for as long as it is published and for copies already made.

7. Connections to other services

You can link pepfit to your watch, your scale or other apps (Health Connect, Whoop, Withings…). Each connection is optional, made with your consent, and can be cut off in the app. These services remain subject to their own terms; pepfit is not responsible for their outages or for the data they provide.

Whoop: by connecting it yourself, you agree that pepfit stores its data and uses it for your calculations (Effort and Recovery never read its scores) and the app's lab, for your connected AI (the "Let AI read your Whoop measurements" switch turns on when you connect and can be turned off in Settings), for the coaches you share an area with, for your public profile if you show your best sleep there, and, if you turn it on, for "Improve accuracy" (details). Disconnecting it stops everything.

8. Connected AIs

With the AI connection, you give an AI of your choice access to the areas you choose. What it reads goes to its provider, under its terms. What the AI says or writes does not commit pepfit: check what it adds to your log, and do not take its advice as medical advice. You can revoke access at any time (details).

9. Paid plans

During the alpha, pepfit costs nothing. If paid plans come, their price, duration, renewal, your right of withdrawal and how to stop them will be described here before any subscription, and nothing will be charged without your consent.

10. Termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time, in the app. Deletion erases your account and your data from the server; what remains in backups, encrypted and unreadable, is erased as they rotate. Remember to export your data first.

pepfit may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after warning you and giving you a chance to explain, except in an emergency (illegal content, security breach). You still keep the option to export your data.

11. Liability

pepfit is provided as an alpha: it may change, stop or contain errors. Joubert SARL does its best to keep it running and your data protected, but is not liable for indirect damage, nor for the use you make of estimates, programs or an AI's answers. Nothing in these terms limits your consumer rights or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Changes

If these terms change, you will be told in the app at least 30 days in advance, unless the law requires a faster change. If you disagree, you can delete your account.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. For any complaint, write to Franck Joubert, managing director, at [email protected]; you will get an answer within 30 days. Failing an agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the rules that allow you to go to the court where you live.
